Zip Code In Justice
After being assigned to the task of heading the Cold Case Unit, Detective Damien Tyson has found himself in the spotlight once again. The twenty-year veteran has more than proven his ability to adapt and keep himself on a pedestal. As his staff comes together and collects data and reviews cases, they find cover-ups and deliberate injustice. It seems strange that all the cases appear to have commonality.
Always the same areas in the community, always a lack of evidence or written reports. When the data reaches the Chief, Mayor, and Governor’s office they want answers before anyone else becomes aware that injustice appears to be evident for only one class of people. Tyson has now become a part of the Border Coalition collaborating with larger cities throughout the state that will have to create the data that Tyson’s unit has revealed.
After uncovering this “Zipcode Injustice” throughout the state, community leaders and activists have become involved. Not everyone is pleased with this collaborative effort and the attention it has stirred, especially those connected to each file they closed to gain personal rewards. Detective Tyson’s problems mount as his obligation to the community battles his loyalty to the department.

This book is not written as a medical reference guide as I am not exploring mental health issues. Examples and information given is to bring attention to our daily interactions that if not viewed with a positive mind can cause social, physical, and mental discord.

I couldn't put this book down!!! I believe this is the author's first crime fiction novel and an excellent one at that! I highly recommend "The Perfect Side Piece (Damien Tyson The Cold Case Series)" if you want to read a great who done it? book. I only wish it hadn't ended... And can't wait to read the rest of Nanette's Cold Case Series!

SCATTERED PIECES
Scattered Pieces by Nanette Buchanan was a beautifully written novel. Anyone can relate to this novel, especially single mothers trying to take care of their kids on their own with no help. Sometimes life can get so overwhelming, we all need to rest at some point. Sometimes you may want to sleep the pain or troubles you may be going through away. Sometimes it may be a fleeting thought, but you may even consider suicide as being better. Ms. Buchanan captures the emotional aspect of a woman and her pain at feeling alone in the world and the fact that indeed things do look better with time. And all you need is just to hold on a little longer and reach down inside yourself and pull the inner strength that you have and you will come out of whatever it is you are going through ok. Depression is not a weakness it is just a state of something you may be going through but remember with the right people in your life and maybe with some counseling you will get through it. Don't give up! Something better is waiting for you around the corner. I highly recommend this novel to anyone that ever if just a fleeting thought, felt like giving up! Although this is only a work of fiction it was an excellent novel that will leave a lasting impression even after you finish.

A Twisty Plot Driven Romance Mystery
Awlll...As much as I want to tell readers what I'm awlling about, I must resist the temptation to give away spoilers, to tap on this story's merit.
The tone of Gossip Line is delicious. It's soft, warm, and inviting... the sex scenes included. All words are written in plain English; body parts referred to by its sophisticated given glossary term, and the dialogue written as characters might typically speak given his or her education, background, or culture. The writing also is natural and pacing slow, though natural and slow in a way that leisure readers who appreciate staying with a story, and sinking into it, might really enjoy. The male characters I easily identified with, and really liked. And all except for Lydia and Meredith's mother, the female characters (for the most part) were likeable as well. The rationalizations attached to character motives were questionable (in many places), however it is this motif that propels the story making for an entertaining mystery full of twists and turns that will keep you guessing to the very end who is trying to ruin Gossip Diva's career and reputation.
A nice get-away read.

Since the end of the first book I've been wanting to know what becomes of Tonya Mince, the weeping widow of D.Q. Mince. She wasn't crying over her husband's life ending; Tonya was crying because after all her scheming and deception, D.Q. made sure she didn't receive a dime of his money. Even from the grave, D.Q. is making her life a living hell and trust, it's more than Tonya deserves.
A lot of secrets surface surrounding the Mince family in this novel. Derek, Darrell, and Dershai are in for the shock of their lives when the truth is revealed but nobody has the wind knocked out of their sails like Tonya Mince. Is the truth and a visit from her past too much for Tonya to face?
Each page is more dramatic than the previous page and you won't stop reading until you reach a most satisfying ending. Kudos Nanette Buchanan! I enjoyed this novel and am looking forward to reading, Bruised Love.

This is one hell of a good story. Ms. Buchanan has penned a story of a down low husband who has destroyed everything around him. Brian, one of the main characters has allowed his skeletons to spill out of the closet because he couldn't deal with the truth about himself. He has drawn his ex-wife and his two children into his web of deceit causing them to all be dysfunctional. However, once he and his wife meet Kris their whole world changes and the walls of deceit come tumbling down. I really enjoyed this story and will be looking forward to reading the next story from this author. Kudos Ms. Buchanan!!!!!

This novel is driven by drama and suspense. When the antagonist turns up dead, everyone is a suspect. Be sure to add Bruised Love to your reading list! I, too, hope there is a sequel or a spin-off as I'd love to know what happens to my favorite characters.
